Debt Free Holiday

No chetahs for me this holiday season I will be shopping with only the cash in my pocket! I am sure there are some of you out there that would never have used a credit card for gifts but I have been stupid and thought that was the norm, but no more. I have not used a credit card in almost a year, I am not debt free yet but I am on my way! The cool thing is that I have a great job and am making the kind of money to make this possible. This year I will focus on spending time with my family not the presents I can give but instead I will give them my time.

Day 3 of the dreaded stomach virus, I have had 1 piece of toast and half a bowl of chicken soup since Friday. The cramps are better but still hanging on. I may just survive this one but I will say it was touch and go for awhile.

Birthday Ramblings

I am not sure what to say today on this my 37th birthday so I guess I will list a few things that I would like to do or change in the next year...
1. quit smoking
2. find a good church (I feel it would be good for all of us)
3. start running (I can do the marathon but I need to start somewhere!
4. do my job and then go home, basically leave the office at the office
5. say what I feel even if it ticks people off, I think I am old enough to just say sorry thats what I think.
6. take responsibility for me and let everyone else take care of themselves, change the things you can and the rest can go to.... well you know
7. spend much more time with my family, definatly make this a priority!
8. get out of debt, or at least start those baby steps
9. get organized (in my dreams!)
10. have more fun
11. sleep more

Life right now..

I have so many issues going on at work I don't even know where to start. First of all we have been down 1 therapist for almost 2 months so I have been taking more call and working like a mad woman. The paperwork on my desk is about to drown me and I don't see an end in sight! My house is out of control and again I can't keep up. Then I get home tonight and there is my credit card bill that aparently I forgot to pay last month, oops! Something must give before I lose my mind!

My day started with the story of a young boy who took his life over the weekend then ended my day with a great family who will very likely lose their father to cancer before the end of the year. So I feel I must remind you all to hug your loved ones, tell them you love them every chance you get. To all my family and friends who check my blog, I love you all and am glad I have you all in my life.

Silence.........

The boys are in Texas with Aunt Jenn, it is sooooooooo quiet in my house it is almost scary! I can't believe I miss the noise, the yelling, door slamming, screaming and major caos that is my life, but I do. I know they are having a great time and of course straight from Granny Barb they are just the greatest kids! I totally agree with her I am one lucky lady!

Three More Days

3 days to my favorite weekend of the year, no kids, no hubby, no job, just fun in the sun!!!!!! 3 days and I will be floating on the most beautiful lake I know and drinking icy cold beverages!!! Oh and still no word about our missing chicken, I think he might be gone for good.

1. I am getting into arguments at work... justified as they are.
2. I am yelling at the kiddos...a lot.

4. I was complaining to my mom about my life in general and said more than 1 cuss word...makes me feel yucky!

Chicken Update

Okay today I am at the hospital doing more ventilator training...finish...walk 2 miles back to GiGi's car...place all the very heavy equipment in the trunk of GiGi's car...get in very very very hot car...start her up...blast air conditioner on high...ready to back up, wait...what is this...an envelope under the windshield...advertisement?, not sure...out of hot car...back in horrible hot day...remove envelope...addressed to me(very interesting)...open envelope (jump back in air conditionded car)...blue paper...magazine cut out letters...THE CHICKEN WILL NOT BE HARMED!

3 Days No Chicken

Our fine feathered friend has been missing for 3 days now, no ransom demands as of yet. Where is he, is he safe, and being well cared for, these are questions that haunt me. We did however get some funny looks from the passing higher ups when they saw the posters all over the office, now that is some fun! Anyhoo I will update with news when I have some.

The Missing Chicken

My department mascot an adorable white chicken was bird napped last night a letter was left and stated we were not to call the Police or the ASPCA. We are all very worried and have posted missing bird posters around the office, we are awaiting the ransom demands. There is not a price we would not pay to retrieve this department friend, will post updates as soon as the occur.

If you are the only one at the family get together at the lake who remembers her camera...and better yet pulls it out often to try and catch cute photos of the family...do not ever let sister download memory card on her computer! She will take said photos and post them as her own, taking all photograhic ownership, even though said sister was sitting on her tush drinking beer!

Busy Bee...

Sorry I have not posted for awhile, I have been a busy bee. My company offered me a full time position that will start the first week of June so I am trying to get everything organized before then. I have also purchased a new car, well new to me. It is a 1999 Saturn with less than 20000 miles, I can't wait to park the gas guzzler and save some $$$$.
Austin has just a few more days of middle school and I can't get over the idea that next year my baby will be in High School! Andrew will also start school next year as a kindergardener, very hard to believe. We will be off to the lake house on Thursday, can't wait! Well gotta run, me and AJ are off to buy some poting soil and flowers. Have a great week everyone!

1. I sing in the car, full out all the time! People look at me like I have lost my mind but don't care just love to sing.

2. I am terrified of heights to the point I almost have an anxiety attack driving over a bridge.

3. I cry when I am mad. I hate that I do it but I get so worked up and out come the tears.

4. I worry about losing a family member on a daily basis, if I haven't heard from my sister or mom I think the worst.

5. Sometimes when I am alone I pull out Taylor's blanket and try to smell her and I miss her and wonder what she would have been like.

9. My favorite thing to do is go to garage sales. I have a house full of great buys, and have given a lot to Jenn's decor.

10. The summer I was 12 I drove a car that my friend had "borrowed" from her mother...almost killed us all I did not know to use the mirrors when trying to change lanes. I laugh now but at the time I thought just don't let my parents know.

I love little old men!

Met some of the cutest old guys today. The first used to be a Pharmacy Professor at UMKC, he looked like Santa and he told me my husband was a lucky man (how sweet!!). The next guy was tall and skinny wearing a suit with a bow tie, adorable! He is in a club for retired Aviators and Pilots and used to work for Beech in Wichita. We had a great chat, so very cute!

Cheetah!!

Curse Dave Ramesy! I went to the store on my lunch break looking for some new spring shirts for work. Tried on about 20 found 2 that would work. Then lets go look at shoes, kept thinking $30 too much, $20 still too much. Walked through the entire store and ended up with nothing! I have turned into a big ole cheap skate!! I want to get out of debt, desperately, but come on!

I have been doing vent training with 2 different families this week, the therapist who is training me told me today I was doing so great I was on my own. Very great feeling!

Okay, made it through the dental appt. with only minor breakdown. All they did was tell me all the things that need to be done to my teeth, gum scraping (does not sound like fun), crowns, possible redo of the old root canal oh and yeah pull all my wisdom teeth.....all this fun for the low cost of $5000!!!!! You have got to be kidding me!!

Weird Trait

I have discovered a weird quirk about myself, I take on the moods of those around me, very strange. If any of the guys I work with are in a bad mood within seconds I am also. Yesterday was crazy at work and one of the guys I work with was so down it was scary... by the end of the day I was almost in tears, missed my family and just could not get out of the funk. Today... just as crazy but the same guy came in and was teasing me and laughing... and it was a great day. Any ideas on how to change this??

Andrew's Birthday Party!!

A great birthday party! We had lots of presents, food and family. I still can't believe my baby is 5!

Okay, I finally figured out how to stay logged in and go to different blogs. It is a work in progress. Got the whole family coming over tomorrow and the house is trashed, oh well I guess no sleep for me!

My Sister

I have the greatest sister in the world. 2 days this week she took care of my 2 kiddos, and today she painted my 4 year olds room with his help! I just could not ask for a better support system. I pray that one day I can be as much help to her. I really don't think I could raise these monkeys without her. Love ya Aunt Jenn!!
